Wireless ethernet-serial bridge device
From MobileRobots Research and Academic Customer Support
A wireless ethernet-serial bridge is a device that joins an 801.11 wireless ethernet network, and provides access over that network to another device connected via an RS-232 serial connection, such as a robot microcontroller. This device is most commonly used to provide a control program access to a robot that does not have an onboard computer, such as an AmigoBot, or a Pioneer 3 DX or Pioneer 3 AT without the optional onboard computer installed.
MobileRobots currently sells and supports the Lantronix WiBox ethernet-serial bridge.
This device replaced the previously-used EtherWind ethernet-serial bridge.
