Why is my video display blank after windows XP boots?

From MobileRobots Research and Academic Customer Support

Jump to: navigation, search

Certain robots experience a video-driver bug where XP disables the side panel video output.

To log in if this is happening, press F8 at the Windows boot loader screen that says "Please select an operating system to start", select Enable VGA Mode, press enter, then select Windows XP and press enter. This will start Windows XP in a basic graphics mode that includes output to the side panel monitor port.

This can be permanently fixed in the Hardware Manager driver configuration options, or by upgrading the driver to the latest Windows XP Intel ICH4 driver-set
