There are three colored indicator lights on the front of the SICK LMS200 laser rangefinder. The leftmost light is red. The center light is yellow (or amber/orange), the rightmost is green.

When there is no power to the laser, all lights are off.

The yellow and red lights are on (green off) when a client (such as ARIA) connects to the laser (causing power to switch on) and the laser beis initializing. When initialization successfully finishes, the red and yellow lights turn off and the green light turns on.

The green light is on steadily during normal operation. (Some configuration commands may cause other states, but will return to green if all is OK).

The red light is on (green and yellow off) during some configuration commands.

The yellow light will flash (blink) steadily at 1hz if the SICK detects that some dirt or other object is obscuring the view of the laser on the surface of the front window.

The yellow and red lights will flash if the SICK is unable to return any data due to dirt or other obscuring substance on the laser.

The yellow and red lights will flash rapidly at 5hz if there is an internal fatal error in the SICK and it is unable to operate.
