OmniStar GPS Corrections

To improve the accuracy and robustness of MOGS you can activate an OmniStar subscription for your GPS. OmniStar is a commercial service that provides corrections from additional satellites. They have coverage for most of the world.

Your GPS receiver must support OmniStar. When you purchase service from OmniStar, you must provide OmniStar with your receiver's serial number.

MOGS was written with OmniStar in mind, but it does appear to work acceptably without OmniStar, at least in some environments (though that is not as tested as with OmniStar).

There are two levels of service: OmniStar HP service is the superior service and is recommended-- OmniStar XP has not been tested, but may be good enough too, if you intend to operate somewhere you cannot get OmniStar HP.
