Default Network Settings
From MobileRobots Research and Academic Customer Support
The default network settings for for onboard computers and ethernet-serial bridges on new robots is as follows:
- wired ethernet (onboard computers only): Static IP address 10.0.125.32 (older robots have 192.168.100.32). If a robot has more than one onboard computer, the second computer is 10.0.125.33, the third is 10.0.125.34, etc.
- wireless network (onboard computers and ethernet-serial bridge devices): Managed (not ad-hoc) with access point ESSID "Wireless Network", Static IP address 10.0.126.32 (192.168.1.32 on older robots).
If a robot has more than one onboard computer, the second is 10.0.125.33, the third is 10.0.125.34, etc.
If you also purchased a wireless access point from MobileRobots, then these default settings will work with that access point.
If you are planning on using the robot on an existing wireless network, you will need to change these settings. See Debian Linux Network Configuration if your robot's onboard computer is running Debian GNU/Linux. See Windows Network Configuration if your robot's onboard computer is running Windows.
If you have an ethernet-serial bridge device instead of an onboard computer with wireless networking, see EtherWind Configuration if you have an EtherWind device, or Lantronix WiBox ethernet-serial bridge if you have a Lantronix WiBox instead.
If you have a SICK LMS-100 or SICK LMS-111 laser rangefinder, then see SICK LMS-100/LMS-111 Laser Rangefinders for information on how it is configured for ethernet communications.
Seekur and Seekur Jr. may have a switch with an onboard LAN to connect multiple computers and ethernet devices, and use a WRAP wireless networking interface. See WRAP for details on its configuration.
