[Pioneer-users] Question about controlling gripper



Hi there,

We just recently got a PeopleBot with a gripper. We will use the robot to do a delivery task which involves using the gripper to carry some objects from one place to another place. I looked through the manual of the gripper but didn't find any information about gripper control software with graphic user interface (like MobileEyes for robot navigation). Basically what we want is to first use MobileEyes to move the robot to the orgin/destination, and then open/release the gripper. Since I am quite new to this area,  could someone give suggestions about how to implement this action with tools available? Does this require some programming? If so, where is the starting point?
